The Grand-Pré / Portes de Rosny sector, located north of Rosny-sous-Bois, is situated between large metropolitan transportation hubs and regional ecological continuities.
Marked by its strong infrastructure and commercial character, this sector, which still retains some remnants of the late 19th-century urban fabric, is the result of successive additions inherited from major construction projects of the 1960s/1970s, including large housing complexes, highways, and the Rosny 2 shopping center – a major commercial hub – whose owners have a proposed expansion project.
The studied site is also close to the Rosny-Bois-Perrier station, which is set to become a prominent multimodal hub as the RER E stop will soon be connected to Metro Lines 11 and 15, as well as the Grand Paris Express.
To meet the ambitions of the Grand Paris Est EPT, which has commissioned the Paredev Urban Planning Agency, the goal is to renew and densify this entry point to the city. Urban and environmental studies are also intended to anticipate medium-term climate changes and explore urban forms that preserve the natural ground from excessive urbanization.
